Anarchist guilty of damaging VCU police cars

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - A jury in Richmond feels a member of an anarchist group should spend time in jail for slashing tires on multiple VCU police cars.

According to the Richmond Times-Dispatch, it took less than a 30 minutes to find Jeremy Hawthorne guilty of felony property damage.

Police say he used a scraper to puncture at least seven tires back in August.

Richmond prosecutors say Hawthorne is a member of a group known as the Wingnut.

It's a group which has gotten attention for videotaping police activity as part of their Richmond copwatch group.
