RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - The Spiders continued their downward slide down the A-10 standings, falling to St. Joseph's Wednesday night 70-60 at the Robins Center.
Cedrick Lindsay led the Spiders (12-11, 3-5), who have lost two straight games and four of five, with 14 points.
Carl Jones tallied a double-double, scoring 16 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. C.J. Aiken, who hit three 3-pointers, scored 14 points to lead four other Hawks players in double-figure scoring as they snapped a three-game losing skid to Richmond. Langston Galloway had 13 points, Daryus Quarles 12 and Ronald Roberts Jr. 11 for Saint Joseph's (14-9, 4-4 Atlantic 10 Conference). Halil Kanacevic chipped in 12 rebounds for the Hawks, who have won two of their last three contests.
The Hawks battled for a 27-25 halftime lead, and then broke it open with a 15-3 run to start the second half. They led the rest of the way, outscoring the Spiders 43-35 in the second half to seal it.
UR will try to turn it around Saturday at Duquesne.
