Mobile, AL (WWBT)- Russell Wilson decided this past summer to hang up his baseball career for good to focus on a career in the NFL. Wilson looked to make a good impression on NFL scouts on Saturday, suiting up for the North squad in the Senior Bowl.
Wilson started for the North, and finished the day 4-for-7 passing for 65 yards, one touchdown and one interception. His pick came in the first quarter, when LSU safety Brandon Taylor stepped in front of Wilson's pass to stall a North drive, but Wilson would respond with the touchdown pass in the second quarter, and eight yard TD strike to Marvin Jones of California. The North would go on to win the game, 23-13.
Wilson is projected by many to be a sixth or seventh round pick in April's NFL Draft, and will look to improve his draft stock at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis next month.
