Olean, NY (WWBT)- Richmond men's basketball put up 102 points in Wednesday's win over Fordham, and hoped to carry that momentum into St. Bonaventure on Saturday. However, it was the Bonnies triumphing when the clock hit zero.
Kendall Anthony matched a career-high with 21 points, but it was not enough, as St. Bonaventure never trailed in sending Richmond to a 62-47 loss. The Bonnies jumped out to a 10-0 lead to open up the game and never looked back. Richmond was hurt by poor shooting, connecting on a season low 26.5 percent of its shots, and the Spiders were just 15-of-25 from the free-throw line. Anthony was the only Spiders player to reach double figures.
There was at least one bright spot for Richmond, and that was Darrius Garrett, who tallied two blocks on the night to set a new Spiders' single-season shot blocking record. Garrett now has 79 blocks on the season.
Richmond falls to 12-10, 3-4 in the Atlantic 10, and returns to action on Wednesday when the Spiders host St. Joseph's.
