RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - NBC12 viewers and friends on our Facebook page have been asking for more information regarding an incident on the University of Richmond campus. We've learned six men were charged with disorderly conduct following a fight that broke out around 1:30 a.m. Saturday.
NBC12 reached out to University of Richmond Police and received the following statement from Chief Dave McCoy:
"This morning about 1:30 a.m., at the conclusion of a University sponsored social event open to area college students, a large fight broke out which required assistance from the City of Richmond. Most of the students left the area, but there were still a few groups engaging in disorderly conduct. As a result a handful of young men were charged and released on a summons for disorderly conduct. One of those six individuals was medically treated for exposure. There were two specific uses of OC spray to stop active combatants for the safety of the officers. There are no reported injuries as a result of this incident."
