Two Hanover grads injured in college fire

HAMPDEN SYDNEY, VA (WWBT) - This morning, investigators are working to figure out what caused a house fire at Hampden-Sydney College.

Two students were hurt. Bore are star football players at the college and both were Hanover High School graduates.

The fire started just after 4:00 Wednesday morning at the Tiger Athletic Club on the edge of campus. Eight students were inside the house at the time. All were all able to get out.

It took firefighters about 90 minutes to get control of the fire. The house's frame is all that's left.

Ben Rogers was treated at VCU Medical Center for minor burns.

Kirk Rohle was also taken to VCU Medical Center for serious burns from the fire.

Both are expected to be ok.

The school says alarms in the house were working and they are still trying to figure out what started the fire. Investigators believe it may have started in furniture on the front porch.
