Couple arrested in West End burglaries

HENRICO, VA (WWBT) – A Henrico couple is under arrest, accused in a string of home burglaries that police say unfolded over the past two months.

Benjamin O. Heslep, 25, of Cedar Croft Street, and Michele S. Rintoul, 22, of Shadowood Court were arrested last Wednesday, January 18, according to a news release. Authorities say Heslep and Rintoul were caught immediately after committing two burglaries that day. Police say they subsequently linked the pair to four incidents dating back to December. More charges are pending, police say.

Heslep and Rintoul are charged with multiple counts of burglary, grand larceny, larceny with intent to sell, and conspiracy.

Earlier this month, Henrico Police informed residents of a "dramatic" increase in west end residential break-ins, occurring mostly in the afternoon hours when homeowners and neighbors were not present.
