President to deliver State of the Union Address tonight

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - President Obama will address the nation in his third State of the Union Address in Washington at 9:00 tonight.

White House Press Secretary Jay Carney says the president will lay out an ambitious agenda for 2012 that will challenge congressional Republicans to find areas of compromise.

Republicans contend that tonight is nothing more than the official launch of the Obama 2012 re-election campaign and that the speech won't be about helping the American people but instead positioning himself to win in November.

Ryan Nobles will be in Washington for the address.

During the speech we'll hold a live chat on NBC12.com, then have a complete wrap up from D.C. tonight at 11.
