Chesterfield schools expect slight increase in funds

CHESTERFIELD, VA (WWBT) - Chesterfield Schools' superintendent, Marcus Newsome, will present his annual budget to the school board.

According to the Times-Dispatch, the county is expecting a slight increase in funding from the state, even though basic aid funding from the general funds that pay for salaries and major expenses is expected to decrease by more than $6 million.

An increase share of state sales-tax-revenues and significant cost savings system is expected to offset most of that loss.
