PETERSBURG, VA (WWBT) – A Petersburg woman faces multiple felony charges after police received a complaint that she had fraudulently obtained thousands of dollars.
According to Sgt. Thomas Molnar with Virginia State Police, 35-year-old LaToya Wilson was arrested Friday without incident at her home in Petersburg.
Recently, special agents with the Virginia State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation, Richmond Field Office received a complaint from the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services in Petersburg. The complaint alleged that Wilson had fraudulently obtained over $15,000 between January 2008 and March 2011 when she was employed with the department as a licensed practical nurse.
Wilson now faces seven felony counts of Obtaining Money by False Pretense. She was released on bond and is scheduled to appear in Dinwiddie County Circuit court next month.
The investigation is ongoing.
