HANOVER, VA (WWBT) - More than 2,500 jobs need to be filled for this season at Kings Dominion an the application process is already underway.
But, don't expect the massive crowds Busch Gardens saw last week. In past years, officials say that people have had to wait in really long lines to apply for jobs at King's Dominion. This year, they say you won't have to wait at all.
"We knew what Busch Gardens was going to face, because we faced it last year," said Ed Kuhlmann, with Kings Dominion. "We really did not cut off the number of people that could come in and as a result of that some people were waiting to get interviewed."
We found several people in Hanover County who remember those lines.
"I thought it was going to be like 3 hours from the way it looked," April Akoi told us. She was one of the lucky few to get a job there in past years. "It was packed."
"You still had to wait another two hours to go in another room to wait for them to call your name. And I didn't get the job," said Briana Travis, another former applicant.
And no one knows better than a theme park, how frustrating long lines can be. So this year, Kings Dominion decided against lines altogether. The only way to apply for a job, is online.
"We felt like we could give a little more attention to each applicant if we did it this way this year," said Kuhlmann.
Officials say they'll sort through the applications daily. If you make the cut, they'll invite you in for an interview.
"Somebody that loves people and loves to have fun because at King's Dominion, that's what we're all about at King's Dominion is having fun," Kuhlmann told us, describing his ideal interview.
You do need to be 16 years old to apply and officials say it is important to get those applications in as soon as possible. They are looking to fill those positions quickly.
