Buying a Voice: Obama campaign ads reach VA

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Virginia is one of only six states that team Obama has decided to purchase TV time. It solidifies the importance the president places on the Commonwealth when it comes to his hopes of being re-elected. In the 30 second ad released on the same day that President Obama turned down the controversial keystone pipeline.

The campaign defends the Obama record on energy. It claims the president has help to add 2.7 million clean energy jobs. It also defends his role in the Solyndra Scandal which ads by third party conservative groups have been hammering him on for several months.

In addition to Virginia the ad will run in Michigan, Ohio, North Carolina, Wisconsin and Iowa. All swing states; all states the President hopes to win. It is expected that the ad will be seen here in Richmond. The ads could hit the airwaves as soon as Thursday. Just three days before Republican voters go to the polls in South Carolina.
