TRAFFIC ALERT: Two lanes of I-95N blocked in Caroline Co.

CAROLINE, VA (WWBT) - A tractor-trailer overturned spilling debris across all lanes of Interstate 95 Northbound just north of Hanover County.

As of 1:40 PM, the left and center lanes were reopened, but lengthy delays continued. Clean up of debris in the right lane and shoulder is expected to take several hours. State Police is advising drivers to use Route 1 north or other alternate routes to avoid congestion.

The accident occurred just after 12:30 PM at mile marker 101.7 in Caroline County, just south of Exit 104 at Carmel Church.

The driver and passenger were taken to the hospital for minor injuries, according to State Police.
