CHESTERFIELD, VA (WWBT) - Fire and Rescue crews in Chesterfield County had a busy start to the afternoon Sunday, responding to two separate fires within minutes of each other.
Around noon, firefighters were dispatched to the 4200 block of Frederick Farms Drive for a chimney fire. The flames spread to the building's roof, but most of the damage was to the chimney itself.
Just after 12:30 p.m., crews were called to the Deer Run area for a fire in the 13500 block of Sunday Silence Court. We're told crews were dispatched for a report of leaves on fire. When firefighters arrived, they found the flames had spread to the heat pump of a home.
Both fires were quickly brought under control.
Officials tell us for both fires, there were no injuries.
