RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) – Richmond Police tell us a woman was assaulted while trying to stop a crime in progress.
Around 8:00 p.m. Saturday, the woman confronted the male suspect in a car break-in attempt in the 600 block of 22nd Street. The two got into a fight and at one point the suspect used a knife to cut the woman in the arm.
We're told the woman required a few stitches, but is otherwise okay.
The suspect was last seen fleeing the scene on foot.
