69-year-old beaten in Richmond

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) – Police are searching for three juveniles believed to have beaten a 69-year-old man in Richmond Tuesday night.

According to police, the assault happened around 6:15 p.m. on a sidewalk in the 200 block of East Broad Street.

The victim told police the three suspects hit him in the head with what appeared to be a backpack. The force of the attack knocked the man to the ground, where the three allegedly began punching and kicking him.

The victim wasn't robbed in the attack. He was taken to Bon Secours St. Mary's Hospital where he's currently recovering.
