RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - First Lady Michelle Obama's visit to Richmond comes less than three months after the president's.
This will be a high profile visit to an important swing state in this election year.
Around lunchtime Wednesday, the First Lady will be at a high profile fundraiser for the Democratic National Committee and her husband's re-election campaign.
Tickets to that event are at least $500 each.
After that, she'll visit recovering soldiers at Hunter Holmes McGuire V. A. Medical Center's polytrauma unit.
Then Mrs. Obama will go to VCU to announce commitments from more than 100 medical schools that will invest in research to treat post war problems like post traumatic stress.
After her short time in Richmond, the first lady heads to Charlottesville for a fundraising dinner.
Tickets to the event are sold out.
