Maynor done for season with torn ACL

Oklahoma City, OK (WWBT)- Former VCU star and current Oklahoma City Thunder guard Eric Maynor's 2011-2012 season has come to a premature end.  The Thunder announced Sunday that Maynor has a torn ACL and will not play again this year.

Maynor suffered the injury in the fourth quarter of Saturday's night's Thunder win over the Rockets.  The guard was driving to the basket when his knee appeared to buckle and he went down in pain.  Maynor had to be helped off by teammates into the locker room and the club made the official announcement on Sunday afternoon.

Maynor was averaging 4.2 points and 15 minutes per game through the first nine contests.  This past off-season, Oklahoma City chose to exercise a one year option on his contract, keeping him with the Thunder for 2011-2012.
