City Council to take up Jackson Ward project

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - City Council will soon consider a proposal for a new development project in Richmond's Jackson Ward area.

You may recall that the historic Eggleston Hotel collapsed in 2009 on North 2nd Street.

Now developers are proposing a new Eggleston Plaza to replace this empty space.

The plans call for new apartments and a restaurant on the first floor.

According to the Richmond Times-Dispatch, there are even plans to bring the once-popular Croaker Spot Restaurant back in this area.

City Council will take up the issue Monday.
