Vigil set for Amarria Johnson

Family and friends will gather today to remember a first-grader who died after an allergy attack at her school earlier this week.

Seven-year-old Amarria Johnson died Monday after being exposed to peanuts at Hopkins Road Elementary School.

The vigil for Amarria is at 7 p.m. Thursday at her home in the 6000 block of Manassas Drive. A memorial fund has been set up at Wells Fargo bank to give the child a proper burial.

Her mother tells us she's been careful to protect her little girl from a long list of allergies. She is meeting with school leaders today to discuss what went wrong.
