
RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Chesterfield Police are looking into the death of a 7-year-old girl from an allergic reaction while at Hopkins Elementary School.
Police say the investigation is now in the hands of the Medical Examiner.
Fire crews were called to Hopkins Elementary Monday around 2:30 p.m. When they arrived the girl was in cardiac arrest, according to fire officials. She was pronounced dead while being transported to CJW Medical Center, say fire officials.
Relatives tell NBC 12 the girl broke out into a rash and was treated at the school nurse's office.
