Police search for robbery suspect

HOPEWELL, VA (WWBT) - Hopewell Police are looking for a man who robbed a restaurant last Saturday.

This occurred around 5:15 a.m. at the McDonald's in the 3300 block of Oaklawn Blvd.

The man entered with a gun, stole money from the safe, then ran away. No one was harmed during the robbery.

A K-9 unit tried to track the man, but were unable to do so.

The offender is described as a medium complexioned black male, approximately 20-25 years of age, 5'8"-5'11", 160-170 pounds, with a medium build and short style haircut.

He was last seen wearing a light in color full-face covering, a multi-colored hooded sweatshirt/jacket over a white in color t-shirt, gray in color sweatpants and multi-colored sneakers.

The offender also was observed in possession of a small, pink backpack.

Police would like anyone in the area that witnessed a suspicious person matching the description to contact lead Detective Na'Shayla Nelson of the Hopewell Police Department at (804) 541-2284.
