HENRICO, VA (WWBT) - Henrico Police have charged a Brooklyn, New York man with attempted robbery following an incident at a BB&T bank Saturday morning.
Police say just after 10:30 a.m., 29-year-old Bryan L. Weathers entered the BB&T bank in the 11200 block of Patterson Avenue.
A teller noticed Weathers was wearing heavy, winter clothing, despite temperatures in the area being relatively warm. The teller triggered a silent alarm, notifying police.
Officers arrived on scene and set up a perimeter. Meanwhile, Weathers handed the teller a blank deposit slip, but then said the money he meant to deposit had been left in his car.
Police confronted Weathers as he exited the bank. After searching Weathers' vehicle and person, police determined there was enough evidence to charge Weathers.
