HENRICO, VA (WWBT) – Henrico Police are investigating after a woman says a man tried to steal her car while she was still inside.
The attempted carjacking happened around 10:30 p.m. Friday just outside the Target store in the 11200 block of W. Broad Street.
The victim told police after she entered her car, a male forced his way in and demanded the keys and the vehicle. At one point, police say the man allegedly grabbed the female by her genital area. The victim was able to kick the suspect and escaped through the passenger-side door.
The woman ran back inside the Target store, where she then called police.
Witnesses say they saw the suspect leave the victim's car and then drive off in a hatchback-style, two-door, dark gray or blue car. The suspect is described as approximately 30 to 40-years-old, approximately 6'3" or 6'4", with a slender build, short brown hair, and a goatee. He was last seen wearing a long-sleeved beige sweater.
