Smoking cessation

COLONIAL HEIGHTS, VA (WWBT) - Dr. John Clay is encouraging his patients to use the new year to quit smoking.

Cigarette smoke contains more than 7,000 chemicals and compounds, 69 of which cause cancer.

Quitting at any age can be beneficial and it's never too late to stop smoking.

Quitting cold turkey can work but often fails.  Other options include nicotine replacement and medications prescribed by your physician.
