Victim from shot up Chesterfield home talks

CHESTERFIELD, VA (WWBT) - For the first time, the victim in the Chesterfield home shot up on Cameron Avenue is talking, speaking out looking for some answers.

It's a crime that has police and the victims scratching their heads: who would shoot up a home in the middle of the night?

Police tell us they have no concrete leads and are asking for your help the solve the bizarre crime.

Hole after hole. A boarded up window. Pieces of the porch railing now just pieces of trash. All daily reminders of the violent night for Seth Anderson and his wife.

"Hard to sleep and everything. You don't sleep long. You wake up 4 or 5 times a night," he said.

It's hard to blame him when you see and hear what happened. The couple was asleep in their bedroom when they were woken up.

"It sounded like a big explosion," said Seth.

Police say it wasn't that. But rather, some shotgun yielding criminals--- who decided to shoot up the house, sending two blasts into the home.

"I definitely want to know who. They can't go around doing this to people," added Seth.

Trying to find these crooks is becoming quite a chore. There's no concrete leads. Also, what is especially troubling -- police have no reason to believe the couple was targeted.

"The why is kind of important to me so I can figure out how to better protect myself," said Seth.

Seth and his wife decided to put cameras on the outside of their home, for security. Now, they can see everything going on, on the outside, right from the comforts of their own living room. The plan is to get 2 more of these cameras installed outside of Seth's home, soon. He's also added more lighting outside of his home.

He and police continue to search for answers. Soon, the visible reminders of the scary night will be gone -- but the memories will last, forever.
