Heroes honored by Carnegie Melon Fund

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Three local people are recognized for their extraordinary efforts to try and save another life.

The Times Dispatch reports that Michael Dudley, Curtis Combs, and Darryl Starnes will receive the Carnegie Hero Fund Medal.

You may recall the story of Chester teen Michael Dudley. Back in August of 2010, he tried to stop a husband that was threatening his wife near a Chester pizza restaurant. When he intervened, he was shot.

According to the paper, Combs and Starnes are honored for their efforts to pull a woman from a burning car.
