Richmond falls at Bucknell to put losing streak at three

Lewisburg, PA (WWBT)- Darien Brothers scored a team-high 18 points and Richmond held at halftime lead, but it was not enough as the Spider men's basketball team dropped a contest at Bucknell on Saturday night, 79-65.

The two teams battled back and forth during the first half, with Richmond taking the lead late in the frame and holding a 31-27 advantage at the break.  After several lead changes in the second, the Spiders held their final advantage on Brothers' three at the 12:05 mark.  Bucknell would take the lead 30 seconds later and open it up to as many as ten, then pull away to win by the 14 point margin.

Brothers' 18 points led the Spiders, while Derrick Williams added 14 and Kendall Anthony chipped in eleven.  Bucknell, which shot 59 percent from the floor for the game, was led by Cameron Ayers' 23 points, while Mike Muscala scored 22.  Muscala added 12 boards on the night as well.  Four Bison found double figures in scoring on the night.

Richmond's record falls to 6-5 and the Spiders return home on Tuesday to face Old Dominion.  Tip-off is set for 7:00 pm.
