COLONIAL HEIGHTS, VA (WWBT) - Dr. Christopher Marshall from Colonial Heights is treating ear infections.
He is seeing it mostly in kids. It usually comes with one-sided ear pain, sometimes with fevers. Babies may be noted to be pulling on their ears.
Ear pain may be relieved by over the counter Robitussin or Mucinex and the fever can be controlled by Tylenol or ibuprofen. But don't ever give children aspirin.
If symptoms persist despite over the counter treatment or if the child has an underlying medical condition (especially a respiratory one), such as asthma, seek medical evaluation.
