Driver hits support beam, road sign falls

HENRICO, VA (WWBT) - All lanes are back open on Interstate 64 after an overhead road sign came crashing down during a traffic accident Saturday night.

It all happened just before 6:00 p.m., when the driver of a Toyota ran off the road and hit the sign's support pole, causing it to come down onto the eastbound lanes.

The driver and a passenger, two teens from South Carolina, were wearing their seat belts and were not injured in the crash.

The driver was charged with making an unsafe lane change.
