Driver crashes into Southside restaurant

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - A woman is behind bars after Richmond Police say she drove her car into a southside restaurant... and the whole incident was caught on camera.

It happened around 3:30 a.m. Saturday at the Benny's BBQ in the 3000 block of Stony Point Road.

Police tell us the damage was primarily to the glass, front entrance of the building.

The restaurant's owner later told us, the driver is one of his favorite customers.

Despite the damage, Benny's BBQ is still open for take-out service.

The driver wasn't injured, but police did arrest and charge her with driving under the influence.
