Man accused of carjacking a judge

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - A New Kent County man has been arrested in the attempted carjacking of a Richmond judge.

29-year-old David Thomas Lawler is being held without bond at the Richmond City Jail.

Richmond Sheriff CT Woody says Lawler tried to open doors on both the driver and passenger sides of the car. The judge immediately reported the incident at the John Marshall Courthouse.

Investigators believe Lawler chose the judge's car at random.
