CHESTERFILED, VA (WWBT) - North Chesterfield is just one of the areas damaged by Wednesday night's storm.
One area that was particularly hard hit was along Robious Road near Huguenot.
A large number of homes lost power and some are still without it.
Many people said they felt very strong winds, driving rain, and if they didn't lose their power it flickered a little bit.
We found significant damage over by James River High School along Robious Road.
John Clayton had a few trees crash down behind his house.
One went through a fence and into the porch in his back yard.
When the trees fell, Clayton wasn't sure quite what to think.
"Then we heard all these crashing noises and it scared us pretty good but thank goodness we're safe," Clayton said. "These things can be repaired and replaced we are just thankful that my wife and I are okay."
As of now, most of the power in the county has been restored.
THERE ARE ALSO NO REPORTS OF ANY SERIOUS INJURIES OR DAMAGE TO HOMES.. FOR THE MOST PART IT WILL BE JUST QUITE A BIT OF CLEAN UP.
