"Occupy Richmond" costs total $34,000

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - The region's cost to keep up with the Occupy Richmond movement continues to grow.

So far- Richmond and state place have spent a total of nearly $34,000. The figure includes the removal of the group from Kanawha Plaza and later at Monroe and Festival Parks.

The group is now taking up residence outside the home of Richmond Free Press Editor Ray Boone. He also happens to be the next door neighbor to Richmond Mayor Dwight Jones.

No word yet on how much police are spending to watch over this part of the protest.
