RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - City council has taken the first step that could allow Occupy Richmond to camp in Kanawha Plaza, but the matter may not be resolved until next year.
Councilman Marty Jewell introduced an ordinance that would exempt that park from the city's camping and sunset laws.
The council's Land Use, Housing and Transportation Committee will review the proposal on January 17.
