Man arrested for simple assault of pizza delivery driver

SPOTSYLVANIA, VA (WWBT) – The Spotsylvania Sheriff's Office says they've arrested a man believed to have made sexual comments to a Domino's Pizza delivery driver.

On Sunday, 45-year-old Donald J. Gannon was arrested for simple assault.

The victim says Gannon called Domino's to complain he had not received a receipt for an order he had made earlier. The delivery driver then went to Gannon's apartment to deliver the receipt, but says when she arrived Gannon immediately started making inappropriate and sexual comments to her.

The victim told police when she went to leave, Gannon grabbed her arm and tightened his grip when she attempted to pull away. However, she was able to escape and alert police.

The Spotsylvania Sheriff's Office says Gannon has been released on a $3,500 recognizance bond.
