CHESTERFIELD, VA (WWBT) - It looks like drivers can finally save a little bit of money as they fill up their tanks this week. The cost of gas is going down.
Hopefully it's a trend we'll continue to see as the holidays approach.
Gas is cheaper than several weeks ago — hopefully these prices won't go up too much before people hit the road for Thanksgiving vacation in just a couple of days.
On average, the cost for gas has dropped about five cents the past two weeks.
The average price for a gallon of regular gas nationwide is about $3.38. In Richmond, it costs $3.22.
Back in 2008, when the recession hit, gas cost more than four dollars a gallon; this time last year, gas in Richmond was less than three dollars, averaging $2.74.
