Harrisonburg, VA (WWBT)- The field of 20 FCS playoff teams was released on Sunday morning, with many CAA teams holding onto hopes of playing for a national championship. When the bracket was complete, James Madison and Old Dominion were two of five conference teams that will get their respective shots.
JMU finished its regular season 7-4 and will travel to Eastern Kentucky to open up play on Saturday at noon. The Dukes finished the season with two straight victories and finished 5-3 in the CAA. With a victory, James Madison would move on to face second overall seed North Dakota State.
Old Dominion will host Norfolk State to open up the FCS playoffs on Saturday at 1:30 pm. The Monarchs put together a phenomenal first season in the CAA, finishing 9-2 overall, 6-2 in the conference. The Spartans have won four in a row and will face third seeded Georgia Southern.
New Hampshire, Maine and conference champion Towson also earned spots in the FCS playoffs.
