UVA alerts students of sexual assaults on men

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - There is shock on the campus of UVA after the university campus police sends an e-mail alert to students.

There have been recent reports of young men being sexually assaulted.

The e-mail states there have been several reports of nighttime apartment break-ins near campus.

Police say the person responsible isn't looking to steal.

Police say these break-ins have been happening since the semester started back in September.

They say men have reported waking up to find they are being groped by another man.

Police believe the suspect gets in through an unlocked door. They say the reports have come hours or even days after the incidents happened.

Police believe all of these incidents are related.

They are asking students to be on alert and to lock their doors.
