Richmond falls to Davidson in first road game of season

Davidson, NC (WWBT)- Kendall Anthony and Cedrick Lindsay scored 17 points each, but it was not enough as the Richmond men's basketball team fell at Davidson, 74-61, on Monday night.

Anthony, who was named the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week on Monday, put together another solid performance in just his second collegiate game.  Anthony scored his 17 points on 6-of-10 shooting and hit five of his six free throw attempts.  Lindsay did most of his damage from the charity stripe, connecting on 13-of-14 free throw attempts.

The two teams battled closely, but Davidson went on a 20-8 run to end the first half and go up 37-28 at halftime.  The Spiders fought in the second, despite falling behind by 15 points, but could not charge back to earn the victory.

Richmond falls to 1-1 on the year and will return to action Thursday when the Spiders host Hampton at 7:00 pm.
