VCU unveils new luxury area at Siegel Center

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - VCU will unveil its Final Four banner in the rafters of the Siegel Center on Friday night.  Rams fans will have something else different to see when they look up.

VCU has unveiled a facelift to the second floor of the Siegel Center. The 15,000-square foot renovation and expansion has provided the Siegel Center's second level with luxury suites, a 120-club seat balcony, renovated offices and a new lounge, the Tommy J. West Club.

All 120 club seats have been sold for the upcoming season.  Shaka Smart said Wednesday that not only is it a great benefit to VCU fans, but it also is another thing that can help in recruiting.

The facelift was completed entirely through private donations of $3.4 million.  Also, basketball coaches and athletics personnel have new offices that overlook the home of the Rams.

VCU opens up against St. Francis at 7:30 on Friday night.  Fans are being asked to be in their seats by 7:15 for the banner ceremony.
