Louisa County voters decide fate of meals tax

LOUISA, VA (WWBT) - Voters in Louisa County will decide the fate of a meals tax.

The extra money will go to fix public schools damaged in the August earthquake.

A yes vote would add a 4% tax on food and drinks sold in restaurants.

This will not apply to restaurants in the town of Mineral or Louisa.

According to NBC29 in Charlottesville, voters voted against a previously proposed meals tax in 2006.
