RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - The seats in the House of Delegates are on the ballot. The results could be a big lift for Governor Bob McDonnell. Republicans already control the House of Delegates and are within four seats of taking control of the Senate.
Democrats have run the Senate since 2008. A GOP flip would give McDonnell a powerful voice in the legislature, something he believes would be a good thing for Virginia.
"I'd like to tell people to elect Republican, fiscal conservatives and we'll have a better story to tell for years to come," he said. "We're going to make that case, and we'll see what happens, it's all about who shows up on Tuesday."
Democrats are worried that a Republican win will destroy balanced governance and give control of Virginia to the far right wing of the Republican party.
