Richmond, VA (WWBT)- College teams weren't the only ones taking the gridiron on Saturday as a couple of key high school match-ups kicked off in Richmond.
St. Christopher's looked to cap off a successful regular season with a win over rival Collegiate Saturday night, as the two teams kicked off at Robins Stadium on the campus of the University of Richmond. The Saints jumped out to the 17-0 lead and that would prove to be more than enough in a 17-6 victory over the Cougars. St. Christopher's improves to 8-2 on the season and now prepares for the VISAA playoffs.
Meanwhile, John Marshall looked to stay in the Division 5 Central Region playoff picture, hosting J.R. Tucker on Saturday afternoon. The Justices entered the day third in the rankings and helped their cause with a 39-19 win over the Tigers. John Marshall, Lee-Davis and Dinwiddie will battle for the final two spots in Division 5.
