White box truck stolen from Ashland hotel

ASHLAND, VA (WWBT) - Andrew and Mary Lindgren are from New Jersey. They were moving to their new home in Florida, just stopping through at the Hampton Inn in Ashland. Thieves stole their 16 foot moving truck around 3 a.m. Friday October 28.

"When we realized the truck was gone, when we saw the video, it was heartbreaking. It took surprisingly little time…40 seconds according to the video. That means they were able to get in it probably faster than I could with the keys." said Andrew Lindgren.

"We had a house, we had pretty much gone through everything and saved our most precious things: the family bible, you know, videos of our kids performing as youngsters, paintings that Grandma Elsie did and Grandma Ludwig's sugar bowl. I mean, we went through carefully what we saved; everything's gone." said Mary Lindgren.

The thieves also stole their car that was attached to the truck, but luckily the Lindgren's have it back, it was ditched at a Henrico motel and nothing was taken.

Mary and Andrew Lindgren are offering a $1000 reward for anyone who provides information that leads to an arrest and recovery of their items.

The stolen truck is a 2011 white Penske E-350 box truck. You are urged to call Ashland police if you can help with the investigation.
