Ten Commandments battle

GILES COUNTY, VA (WWBT) - In Giles County, two groups are disputing the school board's claim that it's not responsible for a ten commandments display at a high school.

Last month, the board asked a federal judge in Roanoke to dismiss a lawsuit that seeks the display's removal from Narrows High School.

The Freedom from Religion Foundation and ACLU of Virginia filed a response Tuesday disputing the board's claim.

The groups cite previous instances in which school system officials ordered earlier displays to be put up and removed.
