Spotsylvania Sheriff's Office investigating attempted abduction

SPOTSYLVANIA, VA (WWBT) - The attempted abduction of a 20-year-old woman is under investigation by the Spotsylvania Sheriff's Office.

The incident happened just before 3:30 p.m. Saturday, when the victim was walking along Innisbrook Circle in the Governor's Green subdivision.

The victim described seeing a black, four-door Honda with white six-spoke rims, pull up next her. The rear passenger door on the driver's side opened and the passenger inside stated, "Let's go."

The suspects next exited the car and no weapon was displayed. The victim ran away and the driver of the Honda sped-off.

The victim could not provide a description of the driver, but stated she thought the vehicle had three to four people inside.

A licence plate number is unknown, but the victim says it was a normal Virginia plate. She also told police the Honda had normal windows, without tinting.

The Sheriff's Office notified the community of the attempted abduction through a Spotsy Alert and reverse 911 call.
