SUV crashes into Richmond apartment complex

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - An apartment unit in Richmond's southside has been condemned after a hit and run Saturday morning.

At approximately 10:00 a.m., a red SUV, possibly a Jeep Cherokee, crashed into an apartment complex in the 2300 block of Afton Avenue.

When firefighters arrived to investigate, the vehicle in question was gone.

A building inspector was called to the scene and determined the unit that was struck would need to be condemned.

Richmond Fire and Richmond Police confirm there were no injuries at the scene of the accident because no one was inside the apartment. However, at this time there's no way of knowing if the driver of the SUV was injured.

If you know anything that can help police track down the driver, call Crime Stoppers at 780-1000.
