GOOCHLAND, VA (WWBT) – The Goochland man accused in a deadly 2010 shooting has taken a plea deal.
Online court records reveal prosecutors dropped the second degree murder charge against Kwamane Davis.
Davis instead pled guilty to voluntary manslaughter. He admitted to shooting and killing 24-year-old Dwayne Hardy back in September 2010.
According to investigators, Davis shot and killed Hardy after Hardy shot Davis' cousin, Alvin Daniels, during an argument. The incident happened inside a home that was the scene of a baby shower just hours earlier.
A sentencing is scheduled for December 20.
