RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - A traffic stop in Richmond quickly turned into a chase and officer involved shooting Friday night.
It happened just before 11:00 p.m. near Maury Street. Richmond Police says officers attempted to make a traffic stop, but the vehicle didn't stop.
Police say the driver ended up hitting several police cars before finally stopping along Maury near the I-95 underpass, just pass the Brander Street Pumping Station.
We're told as officers approached to make an arrest, the driver became aggressive, which prompted an officer to shoot.
The driver The driver should be okay, but charges are still pending.
